​Our Key Objectives
​Informed Tasmanians

  • ​​Provide free access to information resources, and support in their use
  • Preserve and make available Tasmania's documentary heritage to inform current and future generations
  • Work with Tasmanian government agencies to ensure the proper creation, management, storage, preservation and accessibility of government information.

​Skilled Tasmanians

  • Help adults and families develop and maintain the skills they need for life and work, and act as a bridge into further education and employment.
  • Encourage and facilitate lifelong learning.
  • Coordinate and promote a state-wide effort to improve adult literacy and numeracy and promote plain English through 26TEN.

Connected Tasmanians

  • Strengthen community connections by providing spaces where all Tasmanians feel comfortable, welcome and included.
  • Extend LINC Services through online delivery and connect Tasmanians to the world through free and supported access to the internet.
  • Engage with our community to ensure services and systems meet and anticipate changing client needs.

Innovative organisation

  • Enhance the LINC service model so that it is sustainable, flexible and aligned with Department of Education strategic goals and objectives.
  • ​Develop and support a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement through effective leadership and a motivated and flexible workforce.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that values and recognises the role of staff including volunteers.
